Beth Dooley is the author of Minnesota's Bounty:  The Farmers Market Cookbook; The Northern Heartland Kitchen, Savoring the Seasons of the Northern Heartland  (coauthored with Lucia Watson); and The Heartland. She also writes for the Star Tribune's Taste section and is the restaurant  critic for the Mpls. St. Paul Magazine.

Over 120 exquisite interior and exterior shots showcase a colorful survey of architecture, from a renovated liquor store to Carnegie libraries to the newest and most wired of information centers.
alt alt Marsha Wilson Chall has published a children's chapter book and many picture books, including Pick a Pup, One Pup's Up, and Up North at the Cabin. Her books have received numerous awards: an International Reading Association Teacher's Choice Award, American Booksellers Pick of the Lists, Parents Choice, NAPPA Gold Award, and Smithsonian Notable recognition.
alt alt Four time Minnesota Book Award winner Pete Hautman is the author of more than twenty novels, including the 2004 National Book Award winner Godless, and three New York Times Notable Books: Drawing Dead, The Mortal Nuts, and Rash. Hautman is known in adult fiction for his crime novels and his young adult novels range from science fiction to romantic comedy.  His most recent books are What Boys Really Want and The Obsidian Blade.

John Coy is the author of the picture books Night Driving, Strong to the Hoop, Vroomaloom Zoom, Two Old Potatoes and Me, and Around the World. Strong to the Hoop is also available in Spanish as Directo Al Aro and Two Old Potatoes and Me is available in Chinese. He is also the author of the popular 4 for 4 middle-grade series, featuring Top of the Order, Eyes on the Goal, Love of the Game, and Take Your Best Shot.

His titles have been honored with the Minnesota Book Award, The Northeastern Minnesota Book Award, and The Sid Fleischman Humor Award. Nancy Carlson is an award-winning children's book author and illustrator who has published more than 60 books. She is one of the few people who knew even back in kindergarten what she wanted to do for a living: "Make pictures and tell stories!" Beyond her writing and illustrating, she speaks in schools all over the country and also teaches a college class. Carlson lives in Minnesota with her husband and has three children.

Kao Kalia Yang is the author of The Latehomecomer:  A Hmong Family Memoir and the forthcoming Still, Fluttering Heart:  The Second Album.  Her first book won the Minnesota 2009 Book Awards in Creative Nonfiction and for Book of the Year.  Her second book is an exploration of her father's poetry and the life that has produced, influenced and ultimately silenced it.  Kao Kalia Yang is currently working on fiction.

Will Weaver was born in northern Minnesota and grew up on a farm. His debut novel, Red Earth, White Earth was produced as a CBS television movie. A Gravestone Made of Wheat & other Stories won the Minnesota Book Award for Fiction and the title story was the basis for the feature film Sweet Land. His most recent book for adults is a memoir, The Last Hunter: An American Family Album.
